by admin published Mar 05, 2011
Gordon Brown became prime minister on 27th June 2007. Just prior to this he made 2 speeches. The first in February 07, when, as Chancellor the Exchequer, he spoke to the Government Leaders Forum Europe, at the Scottish Parliament. The second was on 20th June 2007 to the Mansion House. In both of these speeches he emphasises the UK's place in the global market place, and the role of education, both statutory and life-long learning being one of the keys to the UK's future wealth and prosperity. A thread throughout these speeches is the role of technology to liberate people and to recognise that every single person has talent that should be nurtured and valued.
