First BETT show

BETT was first launched as the 'Hi Technology and Computers in Education Exhibition' in January 1985. It changed its name to BETT (British Education and Training Technology) a couple of years after that. In recent years the individual words that make up the BETT acronym have been dropped, and the event is now simply known as BETT.

Five Year Strategy for Children and Learners (Cm-6272) 8th July 2004. It summarised the Government's plans for early years, primary and secondary schools, 14-1 education and training, adult skills, and higher education. The strategy outlined the principles for the reforms - personalisation and a less directive and bureaucratic relationship with schools - and the expected outcomes, such as every young person getting the best possible start in life and the interlinking of the entire education system.
