Codename Scoop Project Description

Developing from the concept of offering one email per child outlined in the Stevenson Report, Ultralab began work with Oracle to use their database engine to build a set of learning community tools, including identity, for all children, worldwide.

The pilot had no name and was based on a newspaper metaphor and so became known by the team as 'codename Scoop'.

Three organisations were used to test the software design: Walthamstow School in Waltham Forest; Whithill School in Glasgow and a computer club on the Isle of Man.

The set of tools later became Think.com.
