eViva Project Description

eVIVA is an Ultralab research project funded by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority

eVIVA provides an innovative way of assessing the ICT capabilities of students. Students compile online portfolios of their ICT work to show what they know and can do, the processes they have used, and the decisions they have made. Annotating their work gives them an opportunity to show their thinking. Teachers and other students can then give feedback.

eVIVA embraces the sort of communications technologies so many students expect from their day-to-day lives outside of the classroom: web sites; electronic messaging; mobile phones and SMS. Once students have completed their portfolio, they have a unique telephone assessment - their Viva - which they can take on their mobile phone.
