ICDC Project Description

by Hal MacLean last modified Wednesday Aug 10, 2005 13:05

The project will be an award designed to accredit the creative work achieved through the application of digital technologies. The certificate will be called the International Certificate in Digital Creativity or ICDC for short.

The creative work can be of any type, so long as it is made using digital technologies and can be exhibited or performed in some way. So it could be digital movies made in iMovie or interactive 3D models or indeed presentations of digital art work.

Anyone who is part of an organization or institution which can mount an exhibition and host a performance of work can be a candidate for this certificate. There is no upper or lower age limit. This could be a school both for pupils in the school but also for the teachers as part of their on-going professional development. It could be a community group from any discipline who want to explore the development of creative work using digital technologies. It could be a company, commercial or otherwise, as part of their own programmes for professional development.

Institutions and organizations that can support an exhibition will be able to become a centre for the certificate when we roll-out after the pilot project. After their first cohort of candidates goes through they will become validated centres of digital creativity.
