Report OL178 The Training Hotline
The Training Hotline is an innovative Open Learning project which set out to meet three clearly defined objectives:
(1) to provide an accessible entry point for small business users wishing to initiate training programmes;
(2) to assist in raising awareness of the benefits of training; and
(3) to provide 'starter' and continuing training in areas which were directly relevant to the commercial success of the participants.This report describes a twelve months development project carried out by Boston Spa Training Ltd (BST). The project aimed to explore a new method of delivering training via a dial-up telephone service and to develop the first available package of distance, interactive audio training materials for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
