Report OL225 Security Guarding

Scottish and National Vocational Qualifications (S/NVQ's) contain several units of competence , two of which have elements which set standards of performance in: - dealing with fires - implementing emergency procedures - dealing with accidents - dealing with suspicious objects - apprehending suspects - detaining suspects

Many individual candidates seeking to be recognised as competent in these areas were hampered by the fact that such incidents are not predictable, that evidence is not easily gathered during or following such incidents and that simulated incidents are often difficult and expensive to arrange. The Security Industry Training Organisation and InfoSound have developed a computer-based product which addresses this assessment barrier and helps quality assure the assessment process.
